On E39, one of Norway’s largest road projects, the contractors at Omega Holtan, owned by danish Rejlers, were required to deliver massive amounts of metadata on elements in IFC. This is normally hard to do, because there are no good IFC editors in the market, and importing an IFC back in a design tool almost always results in data loss.

Even trickier, Omega Holtan wanted to produce the data in an Excel spreadsheet that they had already started developing.

Anker offered the perfect solution. We already had IFC import and export, ways to edit IFC data, and also a super slick automation both for importing and populating maing sure that any workflow would not need more manpower to be executed. The only thing we were missing was the Excel integration. It took our product team a week to build a prototype, and now all Omega Holtan need to do is extract the elements from the IFC deliveries, edit the Excel accordingly and Anker takes care of the rest.

Giving contractors the power to edit and work with data is going to be an industry game chaanger in the years to come, and Omega Holtan are spearheading that movement.

Finally contractors can create data!
